From the Principal's Desk
Welcome to week 10!
We are all very excited about the upcoming Swimming Carnival. The Swimming Carnival is a whole school event, however if your child is NOT attending and you intend to send your child to school, please contact their class teacher by Wednesday, so we have time to arrange adequate supervision.
What a wonderful opportunity, for the first time in years we as a school are able to offer an event at NO cost to students as the memorial pool is donating the venue for FREE and the school is covering the costs of the buses. The children will be able to put their new learnt swimming skills to the test. Look forward to seeing all parents / carers at the pool.
Please take some time to read over the notes that will be sent home today.
There will be a canteen open for a limited time, so everyone needs to bring a packed lunch, water bottle and of course a hat.
Tuckshop will only be open on Tuesday and Wednesday next week due to being the last week of Term.
A big thank you goes out to Miss Roberts for her organisation and the Memorial Pool staff for donating this venue for free.

Ground Oven
As a culminating activitty for the Year 3 and 2/3 science unit "Hot stuff - understanding heat" students cooked sweet potatoes in a ground oven.
At Slade Point we are proud to embed indigenous perspectives into our science units and this is a great example and opportunity for our students to understand and gain knowledge from our Elders. This is a signature activity within our science program at our school for our students.
