Newsletter-31-2023
From the Principal's Desk
Welcome to week 1!
It has been a lovely return to school. I am very excited to announce that I will be continuing in the role of Acting Principal. Mrs Shaw has extended her leave until the end of term 1 2024. We continue to wish Mrs Shaw the very best as she spends time with her family.
During a very busy term 3, the staff and students of our school have maintained an excellent outlook and focus on education and the importance of community. In term 4, this will continue.
Being a learner is one of our school expectations. Term 4 is a report card term. Please support your child’s teacher by reminding your child to always listen to feedback and do their best with learning.
Attending school every day is very important for learning. Please support your child’s learning by having them at school every day.
Students have shown excellent behaviour overall, across the entire term 3. Our staff has continued to demonstrate outstanding professionalism as role models and teachers of our students.
During this week, in term 4 and in week 2, our students and staff will be reviewing our behaviour expectations. Please help support all the staff at Slade Point and remind your child about being safe. We keep our hands and feet to ourselves at Slade Point State School. When children are being ‘playful’ with each other, this can cause accidents to happen. We have had children being hurt when peers might give them a ‘playful push’. This is not safe behaviour and, as mentioned, causes accidents to happen. Thank you to all students who display safe and respectful behaviour.
We need to remember how lucky our school is to have a community of people who work together and look out for, and after each other.
Chappy Peter and Aunty Wave have started to organise options for book packs in 2024. With Chappy Lisa no longer at our school and our strong connection with the Multicultural Lions Club still in place, our school will still be supporting book packs and stationary supplies in 2024. We are confirming what this will look like over the next few weeks. Please watch this space for more updates.
Thank you to all parents for preparing students for a very busy term 4. Students have returned with smiling and happy faces.
We will be involved in a number of other events and activities over the next 10 weeks.
Please note these reminders.
Please note the messages around the year 5-6 camp payments. If you have not paid your $50 deposit, please do so as soon as possible.
Final payment - is $74 if you have paid the $50 deposit already.
