Cross Country and Fun Run Change of Date and Day
Recently Miss Roberts was informed that Mackay Basketball would like to offer a Gala Day. It is with great excitement that our school will be able to participate. Our year 5 and year 6 students will be able to attend this day.
Due to the Gala Day, we are changing the Cross Country and Fun Run to Thursday 14th of March. The times will remain the same. Miss Roberts has a prepared a note which will go out to all parents, students and carers.
Thank you for your understanding about this minor change.
A reminder that all parents and carers are invited to attend parade in the Hall from 8:45-9:15 am. All of our students work hard to always display our school expectations – Be Safe, Be a Learner and Be Respectful. This week and next week we are focusing on Be Respectful: Follow a teacher’s instructions and use kind words.
Please remind your child to always talk about the problems they are having with a very trusted adult.
It is wonderful to see more children receiving their 25 tokens and a certificate on parade. Congatulations!!!
Before school routine for handball. We are currently reviewing handball rules before school and will continue to support our students going to the library to read. We are also discussing other games children can play at lunch. These will be taught on Wednesdays and Fridays. On Friday I had the pleasure of playing the following games with the students from 8:00 am to 8:15 am: -
Stuck in the mud
What’s the Time, Mr Wolf?
1,2,3 Sly Fox
I will be teaching Duck, Duck Goose this week.
I would like to congratulate the Year 2 and Year 3 students for the amazing job they are doing with playing these games at lunch time. They are playing respectfully in their play area and it is exciting that the new playground construction is getting closer.
I would also like to congratulate ALL students on wearing their uniform with pride in week 4. Our School Prospectus has uniform details outlined.
Our Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6 students have been supporting our school community by volunteering their lunch times to undertake the following leadership roles:
1. Library Monitors
2. Student Council
Thank you to all Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6 students for supporting the school community and taking up these highly valued leadership roles in the school.
In Week 7 (4th March), on parade, we will be acknowledging the work of adult volunteers in our school and our school cleaners. I would like to formally invite all of our community to attend this special parade.
Cross Country will be Friday 14th March, which is Week 8. Miss Roberts is organising a note about all the training sessions and support for Cross Country. This will clearly outline when training will be.
Our P and C will be selling cold drinks at the Cross Country. Thank you to all of our amazing parents for giving up their time to help. Our P and C will also provide ice-blocks on the day. Thank you to our P and C.
There is going to be a FUN RUN FOR OUR LOWER GRADES THIS YEAR!!!! It will be on the same day as the Cross Country. More to come about this exciting new event.
Please support the Chaplain Easter Raffle. This raffle will raise money and funds for our school Chaplain - Peter Borg. All funds go back into supporting the funding of Chappy Peter’s role in our school. The raffle will be organised by Chappy Peter and the Student Council. The 1st Prize is a BBQ (provided by the P and C). The Meat Tray has been donated by the Sea Breeze Tavern. There will be Easter Eggs for smaller prizes. Tickets will be $2 or three tickets for $5.
