Principals Message
Welcome to Week 7
Principal messages
- Congratulations to all staff, P and C and students for an enjoyable Sports Day. Students enjoyed the day and there were many great performances.
Thank you to our amazing Miss Roberts, Miss Mary, P and C (and all helpers) and All School Staff for all of your hard work on Sports Day. A special mention is extended to Chappy Peter, parents and staff who assisted with setting up tents and event areas on Thursday afternoon. Due to the rain, the tents and equipment had to be packed up on Sunday.
The high jump event will be completed this week - on Thursday 30th. Miss Roberts has posed information on Facebook. The rain has complicated the finalisation of this event. Thank you to all parents for your support in this matter.
- Friday of last week was P & C Day. I would like to thank our P and C for being extremely valuable partners. Your work means so much to our school staff, students and the broader community.
- Report Cards will be handed out in the last week of school on Wednesday, June 19th.

- I would also like to acknowledge Leah Scoble who will also be running some activities in the school on 17th June. Leah works with Wetland Walkabout and it is exciting that she is also going to be working with our year 2, year 3 and year 2-3 classes.
- Congratulations to our Leap into Pioneer students who went to Pioneer on the 22nd May. They all participated in an exemplary way.

Student Council
Our Student Council have been working hard with organising our sports bins and getting some more sporting equipment for the bins. We are also looking for some Zooper Dooper donations please. If there are no donations we will no longer be able to sell them. Last term and this term student council has managed to cover the cost of hiring the venue for our Year 6 Graduation dinner and also contributing to the purchase of 2x Basketball towers for the hall. We would also like to be able to help cover the costs of the dinner for the Year 6 students.
We will be hosting another Free Dress Day! next Wednesday 5th June! Come to school wearing your State of Origin Colours and remember to bring your Gold Coin donation. We will also sell Zooper Doopers on this day in the afternoon.

Reconciliation Week
National Reconciliation Week (NRW) is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.
Bookfair
Wow what a fantastic bookfair we had this year. With $1400 spent Mrs Bishop was pleasantly surprised when she was allowed to buy from her book wishlist for the library with the $500 commission raised. A big thankyou to all parents and carers who supported this by buying either through school or online. Now the fun begins..... covering them all.
Year 6
Have you ever wondered what the Year 6 Students do for English......?
This last week the year 6er's have been hard at work creating their informative posters. The students had the choice between Animals or Plants that are around Slade Point. Come down and have a perusal through the Library, at these creative examples.
Noticeboard
