Welcome to Week 8
Principal messages
Congratulations to all of our Cumberland Sports representatives. Also, a big ‘shout out’ to Lindeman for being our overall winning Sports House for the 2024 Slade Point Athletics Carnival.
Our NAIDOC celebration date is now going to be in the first week of school Term 3. The date is Tuesday 9th July. Mrs Adjrun will be preparing a timetable for all community, parents and carers to attend. This change is due to a longer school year in 2024 and NAIDOC dates aligning with Term 3. A special thank you goes out to Mrs Adjrun for also preparing an excellent library display around Reconciliation week.
Children are working hard on assessments in class. When teachers offer feedback, it is important that students take on these suggestions in a respectful way. We can all improve our learning and taking on feedback is one way we do this.
Report Cards: will be handed out in the last week of school on Wednesday, June 19th .
A special Under 8’s Morning is being planned for Wednesday June 19th. This will be in collaboration with Mackay Children and Family Centre. The activities will run from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm.
On behalf of Slade Point State Primary School, I would like to thank Donna Jackson who is the Senior Project Officer for Pioneer Catchment & Landcare Group Inc. Donna has organised this wonderful opportunity for our year 2, year 2-3 and our year 3 classes. Donna will be visiting classrooms on the 17th June.
I would also like to acknowledge Leah Scoble who will also be running some activities in the school on 17th June. Leah works with Wetland Walkabout and it is exciting that she is also going to be working with our year 2, year 2-3 and year 3 classes.
I would like to acknowledge all the support that Uncle Patrick gives to our school. He has confirmed further dance dates with Slade Point State School.

Thank you to all of our wonderful students who always show that they can be respectful in the playground. It was very pleasing to congratulate all the students who received 25 tokens and 50 and 75 badges on Parade at the start of the week.
Our Slade Point State School PBL message for the next 2 weeks –Be Safe. It is important that children stay in classrooms and not stay on playgrounds. Please remind your child that at the end of play it is important to line up to follow instructions from all the staff in our school.
