Principal's News
Welcome to Week 9!
Principal's messages
Slade Point State School is always focused on improving communication with parents/carers and staff. Every day at school is busy and full of learning opportunities. We also want to keep all of our students safe. If you have any concerns about something that is happening at school, you can always check with your child’s teacher at the pick-up gate.
Staff are also available in the Under Cover Area at 8 am each morning, to check with about any questions you may have. You can also make an appointment with your class teacher to discuss any issues or concerns.
A reminder that over weeks 9 and 10 we have been focusing on the PBL Expectation of: - Be a Learner. We can always encourage students to continue to be learners around solving problems they are having a school.
Thank you for your continued support in fostering a safe, respectful and nurturing environment for our students. There are always staff on duty at lunch times to assist all students in the playground. Please remind your child that it is important to report to a staff member, about any problems they are having in the playground. Children will recognise staff by their orange vests, and they will assist at all times.
It is positive that your child may be discussing things with you at home about school. Always check with them about which staff member they have reported to and in what area of the school. It is hard for children to know the names of all staff, but it is important to check that they have reported to a teacher on duty.
A big thank you goes out to Miss Roberts for her organisation around swimming. Swimming dates are as below. Times will be communicated to parents over the new two weeks.
Swimming - Week 1 and 2 - Term 4

Teachers are always available to confirm dates or times for the various activities that your child may be involved in. Notes that are sent home will have dates, days and payment details on them, as well as the times for various activities.
Culture Day was a great success this year. The concert dancing was amazing. Miss Jade and Aunty Vik did a wonderful job preparing our students for the dancing. I would like to thank all of the teachers, Aunty Waveney and Miss A for the Sladey Artist Art work in the library. Mr Martin did a fantastic job on the grounds.
Another big thank you is extended to Aunty Waveney, Aunty Vik and Chappy Peter for their tireless work around preparing for Culture Day. Thank you to all of our community who helped on the day.
Krista Bagley and Devan Brown assisted with painting our snake under A Block. Uncle Patrick and Miss Roberts held a fantastic dance session in the hall. Chappy Peter and Miss Armstrong also held an enjoyable rotation activity on the Culture Day.
Finally, I would also like to thank MCFC and Connected Beginning for your support on Culture Day.
