Welcome to Week 7!
Principal messages
Thank you to all staff, students and community for attending our 2024 Remembrance Parade. All students behaved very respectfully. Thank you to Mr Ian Duncan for playing the bag pipes
Thank you to the Safety Circus performers. Our Year 2 students thoroughly enjoyed the show.
Chappy Peter and Aunty Wave are busy organising book packs. Families will be notified about the book packs later in the term.
Prep Parent Information Session - Thursday 14th November 9:00-9:30 am. All parents and carers are invited to attend. This will be held in the Prep room.
Prep students for 2025 are invited to our whole school transition morning on November 26th. The times are confirmed as 9:30-10:30 am. Meet at the UCA at 9:20 am and go to your new classroom. Booklists will be handed out. Parents and carers are invited to attend.
Orientation Day Term 4, Week 9

* All 2024 Year 7 students who are enrolled to attend Pioneer State High school are invited to a full day of Orientation.
PARENTS PROVIDE TRANSPORT to and from Pioneer State High School.

Christmas Concert: - The gates will open at 5 pm on the 5th December. Gates open at 5:00 pm. Concert starts at 5:15 pm.

Book Fair
Thank you to Mrs Bishop and Aunty Waveney for organising our Book Fair. Our school was able to purchase over $800 dollars’ worth of new books.
School Plan 2025
We are asking parents to provide information to assist our school plan for the 2024 school year. Please let your child’s classroom teacher know should your circumstances change in the next few months for 2025.
Celebrating our Successes: -
Thank you to our amazing P and C for working so hard to raise money for our school. Please buy some raffle tickets and Cookie Dough.
Parades
During parades, we are always celebrating the great behaviour displayed by our students. Students are presented with their 25 token Emerald Certificate, 50 token Sapphire Badge, 75 token Silver Badge and 100 token Gold Badge as well as Student of the Week Certificate on parade each week.
It was pleasing to see all of our students in their school uniform at our Remembrance Parade on Monday 11th November. Thank you to all students who wear their uniform with pride.
Attendance Week 6: - Last week we had all classes celebrating attendance success.

Our school continues to have regular maintenance on many of the buildings.

We always celebrate the wonderful behaviour of our students at Slade Point State School.

Be a Learner
Our Sladey Supermarket continues. Students have an opportunity to go shopping to spend their gift vouchers. These vouchers are a great way to celebrate the wonderful behaviour of our students each day at Slade Point State School.

Save these dates: - Check Facebook posts from the school and P and C. Always ask your child’s teacher if you are unsure about events in the school (dates, times and venue). Check with staff on duty in the mornings at the UCA. Check with staff at the pickup gates each afternoon.

Year 5 & 6 CAMP 2025
Students in current year 4 & 5 classes have been given 'expression of interest' forms for the 2025 school camp. If you wish your child to attend, please sign the form and return it to the office. You will then be invoiced for the $50 deposit. Please pay this deposit by the end of the school year.

Library News
Thank you, thank you, thank you to all parents and Carers who came to our 2nd Book Fair for 2024, with the help of all who brought items we sold over $2100 worth of books which has enabled Mrs Bishop to choose over $800 worth of new books for the library. YAHOOOO

Sladey Christmas
Pioneer Orientation Day
Remembrance Day
Slade Point State School honour those who have fallen and those who are still serving every year. The sound of the Last Post echoes throughout the hall, followed by a minute's silence. We stand united, heads bowed to remember the fallen. Poppy pins adorn our clothes, a symbol of respect and gratitude. Followed by Mr Duncan who gave a moving speech and played his bag pipes.
Sacramental Process for 2025
Preparation for the Sacraments of Penance (First Confession), Confirmation, First Eucharist (First Holy Communion). Will commence with Registration and Parent Information Night TUESDAY 25TH FEBRUARY 2025, 5:30pm at St Joseph’s Church, 21 – 23 Grendon Street, North Mackay.
Attendance of parents at this meeting is essential for the success of our Sacramental Program. Your attendance will be taken as an indication that you do wish your son/daughter to receive the Sacraments of Penance, Confirmation and Eucharist at this time.
For children who are:
A) Over the age of 7 and have not been baptised; or B) Have been baptised in another Christian Faith Tradition.
Parents are still required to come to the Parent Information Evening and Fr Andrew will meet with you separately to discuss the particular process for the Initiation of Children of Catechetical Age.
What to bring along:
A copy of your child’s Baptism Certificate if your child WAS NOT BAPTISED in St Joseph’s Parish North Mackay.
Completed Registration form SIGNED BY BOTH PARENTS and fee for those involved in the program $60.00 per child payable on the night.
