Camp 2025
BIG 4 CAMP 2025
The intrepid Year 5 & 6 students headed off to Airlie Beach in a big bus with Miss Usher, Mr Roberts, Chappy Peter, Mr Barba, Mrs Peach, Ms Armstrong and the parent helpers of Mrs Ottone and Mrs Hyde.
First stop was the park in Proserpine for lunch and a play. We had fun on the big hamster wheels and the flying fox.
We then travelled to Shute Harbour for an amazing walk in the rainforest to a beach made from coral. We had to pick a piece of coral as a souvenir.
Back on the bus to the Bunk House at the Big 4. Where we stayed was so nice with two double bunks in each room, fully air conditioned and there was even a TV in our room. We got to go to the water park, thank goodness because we were hot and sweaty. It was lots of fun and there was a big bucket that emptied on us. We had yummy burgers for dinner and then Mr Barba and Mr Roberts played some minute to win it games with us. It took a long time for some of us to go to sleep.
Ms Armstrong woke us up at 6:00am and we went to visit the Animal Park and got to feed, hold and pat chickens, goats, and sheep. We then had a visit from Tenille from Wildlife Whitsundays where we learnt about insects, lizards and snakes. We got to feed and hold a snake and a lizard and even saw Gustav the Cockatoo do some tricks.
Next was fun rotations including mini golf, big bouncing cushions, leadership activities and the pool again. Afternoon Tea of the yummy biscuits and lovely fruit donated by parents was followed by more fun in the Water Park.
On our last night we had a delicious dinner and fun playing music games then we enjoyed a movie in our rooms.
The last day was started by Mr Barba waking us up with “Who let the Dogs Out” at 6:30am, and we spent the morning packing up and travelling back to Mackay. We had a pizza and popper at the park before heading back to school. We had a great camp full of fun with friends.
Thank you to all of the helpers who made the camp the success it was.
