Counterfeit Money
Warning to all Parents and Community
There has been a recent and confirmed counterfeit money circulating in the school community. The police are following with a current investigation around a counterfeit $50 note.
Please be vigilant and report all counterfeit money to the local police.
How to spot counterfeit money:
- Counterfeit notes may feel much thicker or thinner compared to real currency
- You should be able to see the Australian Coat of Arms if you hold the note up to the light
- Diamond-shaped patterns are printed inside a circle on both sides of the note
- Check the security window is clear and can't be rubbed off
- The black and shaded areas are printed with a special raised ink that can be felt with your finger
- The background on banknotes should be sharp and clear as well, so look for irregularities like colour differences, blurring, thicker or thinner lines.
Thank you for being watchful and attentive around counterfeit money circulating in our school community.

CEC NEWS
Heat the HOMELESS
Winter presents particularly harsh challenges for Australians experiencing homelessness, as plunging overnight temperatures make sleeping rough that much tougher. Many struggle to access warm waterproof clothing, leaving them vulnerable to cold-related illnesses. Shelter services often reach capacity during winter months, forcing some to sleep in exposed areas without protection from rain, wind and cold snaps. The combination of wet weather and colder conditions also increases risks of respiratory infections.
That's why Anaconda is proud to support the Heat the Homeless initiative in partnership with XTM, which collects warm clothing to help the less fortunate in our community during the colder months.
