Parents & School Community:
We want to inform our Slade Point School Community about our new approach to reporting student progress. Starting this semester, we will provide plain language academic reports twice a year for all students from Prep to Year 6.
Here is what to expect in the reports:
- Each subject will be reported on separately. - The front cover of the report features the achievement, effort and behaviour scale. - You will see your child's achievements based on a clear reporting scale. - We will also include a statement on your child's behaviour and effort.
Additionally, parents will have the opportunity to discuss their child's achievement and progress with their teacher in Week 3 of Term 3.
We believe this new style of reporting will help you better understand your child's progress and support their learning journey. Thank you for your continued support.

Choral Fanfare
On Monday 9th June, The Slade Point Choir competed in the biennial “Choral Fanfare”, held at Fitzgerald State School. Nine schools from around Mackay participated in the event, performing in a wonderful morning of choral singing. Slade Point performed “Break of Day” and “Crocodile” and did the school proud, receiving a Gold award for their division. A big thank you to Maggie’s mum, Jessica Hartree who helped with transport and setting up our backing track. Thank you also to the parents and family members who came along to support us. What an exciting day!

Enrolling at Pioneer
Phins and Surf Lifesaving
SLSQ Community Awareness, in partnership with the Dolphins NRL team, will be hosting an exciting Dolphins x SLSQ Clinic at Harbour Beach on Sunday, 2nd July, from 9:00am to 11:00am, and we’d love for your students to be involved!
This initiative is part of our partnership with the Dolphins, designed to encourage participation in both NRL and Surf Lifesaving. The program has already seen great success within SEQ over the past year, and we are now bringing it to the north.
This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase our clubs to the community, support junior/youth engagement in sport and lifesaving, and build local relationships.
